Helen Josephine Palmer Craighead July 29 1929 May 2 2019

Helen Josephine Palmer Craighead, has left her earthly home and entered her heavenly home to join her husband of 69 years, George J. Craighead, who predeceased her on May 17, 2018. Helen was born on July 29, 1929, and departed this life on May 2, 2019, at the age of 89. Left to mourn her passing and rejoice in the memories are her two devoted daughters, Pat Myers (Maurice) of Shawsville and Joyce Walker (Warren) of Elliston. She is survived by her four grandchildren that she loved so much, Chris Walker (Heather), Brandy Dorsey (Jon), Leslie Harris (Gary) and Mike Roop (Jen). Also surviving are the loves of her life, her four precious great-granddaughters, Gracie Gray Walker, Willow, Sydney and Talia Dorsey. A special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Pat Sutts and Renée Smith. Visitation will be at Horne Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 1-2:30 p.m. with the service immediately following. Officiating are Pastor Ben Lockhart and Pastor Jeane Dunkum. Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette United Methodist Church, 5625 Lafayette Road, Elliston VA 24087, or to the charity of your choice.
