Gladys’ Obituary Gladys Joyce Hand, nee Betts, 90, of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 18, 1929, in Oregon County, Missouri, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Bethalto Care Center, Bethalto, Illinois. Gladys retired from Sears in Crestwood, MO and was a longtime member of Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Jewel Hand and her second husband, Damon Hall; her parents, Henry and Parlie Betts; two brothers, Clinton Rice and Clifford Betts; grandson, Dustin Hand; and two great grandsons, Robert and Colton Schneider. Surviving are her children, Sandra (Ron) Orloski and Ron (Renee) Hand; three grandchildren, Trisha (Steve) Diveley, Brian (Selena) Orloski and Brandi Hand Schneider; six great grandchildren, Cory (Emily) Diveley, Katelyn Diveley, Alissa (Wesley) Rather, Tyler Orloski, Taylor Orloski, and Ashley Schaffner; and three great great grandchildren, Caleb and Cooper Diveley and Elliott Paige Rather. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Read More
