Gerrold “Jerry”‘s Obituary Gerrold “Jerry” Dean Johnson, 85, passed Thursday May 30, 2019. Born in Gleason, Tennessee he was a son to the late, Polk A. Johnson and Dona (Boyd) Johnson. He had worked for Boseker Machine Works, Bowmar Aerospace and Harvester. He was a member of Christ’s Hope Ministries and Church. Jerry was a practical man, however during Christmas his generosity came out for his family and church. Jerry is survived by life companion, Mary Peterson; nephew, David (Donna) Johnson; her children, Debbie (Randy) Dellinger, Shelley (Mark) Mawhorter, Robbie (Ken) Tomlinson, Bryan (Johna) Peterson, Carol (Tim) Hollis and John (Jenny) Peterson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Audrey Valerie Johnson, in 2002; brother, Harold Johnson, in 1977; great nephew, Kyle Johnson, in 2002; Mary’s son, Bill Tomlinson, in 1986; and Mary’s great grandson. Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Mike. Jerry will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Christ’s Hope Ministries and Church or Asbury United Methodist Church, in Albion.
