Gene Charles Sprouse Sr. was born June 28, 1949 in Kenedy, Texas and passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Temple, Texas at the age of 69. Gene served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam and later worked for many years in the Oil Industry as a Lead Operator. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Charles Sprouse; mother, Dollie Williard; mom, Marie Sprouse; and by the love of his life, Mary Ann Duckworth. Gene is survived by his children, Kelly Nix and husband Larry Nix Jr. of Robinson, Texas and Gene Sprouse Jr. and wife Lisa Sprouse of Eddy, Texas; grandchildren: Khoury Moore, Ryan Nix, Robert Sprouse, Hailey Davis and Taylor Sprouse; great grandchildren: Jackson Moore, Kaison Davis, Knox Davis, Vivian Sprouse, and one on the way; brothers, Robert Sprouse and wife Vickie Sprouse of Cleveland, Texas and James Ellis and wife Madonna Ellis of Oklahoma; sisters, Janet Hargett and husband George Hargett of South Carolina, Tonya Beamon and husband Brian Beamon of Houston, Texas and Paula Wyatt and husband Kerry Wyatt of Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will be at Neal Funeral Home on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be in the Neal Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10am with Bro. Troy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Ryan Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the US Navy. Pallbearers for the service will be: Freddie Faulkner, Khoury Moore, Ryan Nix, Rusty Faulkner and Larry Nix Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Robert Sprouse and Taylor Sprouse.
