Dateline-Fremont, NH Francis A. Viera “Frank”, 85, passed away suddenly on April 24, 2019 at the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH after a long battle with dementia. He was born April 26, 1933 in Bristol, RI, son of the late Frank and Mary (August) Viera. Frank grew up in Bristol, RI and was one of three sons in the family. He earned his bachelor degree from the Rhode Island College, Class of 1954. Frank spent his professional career as an educator. He retired at the age of 55 after working many years for the City of Cranston, RI at the Parkview Junior High School. Frank was married to Barbara (Waugh) Viera for 37 years and they resided for many years in Seekonk, MA raising their children. Barbara passed away in 1994. Frank married Linda (Waugh) Viera and they have enjoyed 23 years of marriage together. They lived in Fremont, NH for the past 13 years. Frank’s passion was spending time with his family. You could also often find him reading a book, at the beach, watching sports or working in his yard. He also enjoyed to go camping. Currently, Frank was a Communicant of St. Joseph Church, Epping, NH. He was a former Communicant of St. Dominic Parish in Swansea, MA where he served as a eucharistic minister and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, and a grandson. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Viera, his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth “Betsy” Masse and Michael Masse, his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Smith and Maurice Smith, his son and daughter-in-law, Francis Viera Jr. and Raffaela Viera, his son and daughter-in-law, David Fenner and Trish Fenner, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Burial at a later date will be held at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence, RI.
