She was born March 23, 1925 in Houston, Texas to J. Kirby and Lottie White Herndon. She attended St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Houston. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Canyon Lake Texas Garden Club and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her husband George Robert Shepherd; her son, George Kirby Shepherd and one brother, Joe Herndon. She is survived by her son, R. Paul Shepherd and his wife Colleen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Spencer Shepherd of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Molly Shepherd of New York, New York. Visitation will be 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Tuesday May 28, 2019 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in Cranes Mills Cemetery in Startzville, Texas under the direction of Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Arrangements in Fayetteville are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
