Elsie Twilley, 79, of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born May 2, 1940 to the late Julian and Ruth Hayes Green. Mrs. Twilley loved to sew and take care of her flowers and hummingbirds, but her greatest joy was her family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. She is survived by her daughters Karen Smalley and husband, Rick, Kellie Johnson, Lynne Hurtt and husband, Roger, and Karla Smalley and husband, Chris; special son, Means Brannon; grandchildren, Brandi Shrader, Bobby Brooks, Eli Mayo, Sarah Mayo, Anna Smalley, and Christopher Smalley; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Green; sister, Gladys Henderson; sister-in-law, Nellie Green; and brothers-in-law, Almon Twilley, Geneath Twilley and wife, Reba, and Darvin Hurtt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clearon Twilley, daughter, Kathy Twilley Turner, son-in-law Tony Johnson, and grandson, Brad Twilley.
