Elizebeth Mae Dempsey Collins, 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Beth was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 10, 1954 to the late William Guy Dempsey and Sadie Satula Dempsey. She retired from Wayne County Public Schools in 2016. Beth was well known in Goldsboro surrounding areas as “The Bow Lady” a name that she always enjoyed. She made hair accessories for 23 years. Beth also enjoyed participating in craft fairs, spoiling her grandchildren and especially enjoyed face timing with Emma, her great-granddaughter. She attended Goldsboro Worship Center when her health would permit it. Beth also had a long-time family association with Family of Faith Community Church. A service to celebrate Beth’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Goldsboro Worship Center with Pastors, Danny Johnson and John Earnest officiating. The family will greet friends in the foyer of the church immediately following the service. Beth is survived by her sons, Jerry David Collins Jr. and wife Emily of Portage, IN, Eric Guy Collins and fiancé Jacqueline Reddy of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Britnie Elisabeth Marie Collins of Amissville, VA and William Henry Harris Collins of Goldsboro; and great-granddaughter, Emma Elisebeth Marie Richards of Amissville, VA.; uncles, Otto Satula and wife Joan of Oak Creek, WI, Jack Dempsey and wife Faye of Johnson City, TN, and Bob Dempsey and wife Debbie of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by a loving group of cousins as well as special buddies, Benjamin Gilstrap, Nicholas Benetiz, and Declan Mills with whom she enjoyed countless hours of play, hugs and kisses. Beth is also survived by special friends, Debbie Kimbrell and Karen Earnest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Dempsey Brown.
