She was born in Harper on December 4, 1922. She married Hubert Rahe on April 22, 1942, in St James Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful lifetime member. Survivors include her children, Hardin and wife Glenda Jurek-Rahe of San Marcos, Shirlene and her husband Richard Cowie of Harper, Gene and his wife Betty Rahe of Grand Prairie, and Lorna and her husband Dick Donahue of Kaufman; seven grandchildren: Shelley Rahe-Driessen and Mark Driessen of San Francisco, Kurt and AnneHarris Rahe of Birmingham, Alabama, Lindsey Rahe of New York City, Ronnie and Kylie Rahe of Keller, Justin and Jenny Rahe of Abilene, Kendra and Ceth Holubec of Melvin, and Travis and Anna Reed of Hurst; and eleven great-grandchildren, Chase Rahe, Charlotte Rahe, Jacob Rahe, Lauren Rahe, CJ Rahe, Alden Rahe, Tori Holubec, Tate Holubec, Ryland Reed, Isaiah Reed and Adelina Driessen. The family will greet friends and relatives from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 16th, in Fredericksburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 17th, at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper with Pastor Scott Hoffmann officiating. Our family wishes to thank the many friends and relatives who have offered prayers, and have stopped by to offer condolences during this time of sadness and sorrow. Special appreciation is also extended to Hill Country Memorial Health Care and the Hill Country Memorial Hospice employees for the faithful and professional services provided to our mother. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Harper Volunteer Fire Department, Harper Independent School System, St. James Lutheran Church in Harper, or a charity of one’s choice.
