Elizabeth’s Obituary Elizabeth Estelle Foltz, 90, of Shenandoah, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born March 18, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Eugene Walter Dovel and Nina Florence Kite Dovel. She graduated from Elkton High School in 1946, and was a member of St. Peter’s E.U.B. Church for a number of years. She was a caregiver to many, her parents requested she live and care for them until their passing, then she moved to Page County. She also helped others in the family who needed her help, and was a good mom and homemaker for her immediate family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was very active, serving on the church council for 15 years, a Sunday school teacher for 10 years, co-chairman of Sunday school and fellowship chairperson and other numerous activities. On October 22, 1949, she married the late Roy G. Foltz who preceded her in death on January 19, 2001. She is survived by four sons, Roy Eugene Foltz and wife, Norma of New Market, Jerry Lee Foltz of Shenandoah, Jay Von Foltz and companion, Jackie Watts of Shenandoah and David Arthur Foltz and wife, Robin, of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Abigail Foltz, Krystal Foltz, Caleab Foltz; one special niece, Mary F. Dorrough who checked on her daily; other numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Dovel, Paul Dovel; sisters, Arbutus Kite, Audrey Loster, Ethel Stanley, Lucille Foltz. Pastor Kevin Gerber will conduct the funeral service at 11 am Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sentara RMH Hospice at 2000 Beery Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
