Obituary for Elaine B Porter ELAINE (LARISEY) PORTER, 78 Elaine Barbara Porter, age 78 of Arlington, passed away on March 27, 2018. She was born to the late Ivan Larisey and Betty Clear Larisey on March 24, 1940. Elaine grew up in Somerville, MA where she graduated from St. Clements High School. She later attended the New England Conservatory of Music. From a young age, the arts were Elaine’s passion and delight. She was an accomplished piano player, singer and performer. Elaine cherished her years with the choir at St. Eulalia’s. She found an abundance of joy in her role teaching piano to adults and children. Elaine loved reading, especially poetry and in her later years devoted much time to writing poetry and children’s stories. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble with family and friends. She liked baking and her sugar cookies will be greatly missed at family gatherings. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Dianne, and son-in-law Sam Rao of Bend, OR, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Tom McDermottroe, sisters Donna Larisey, Joyce Larisey and Joni Larisey and brother Brian Larisey, aunt and uncle Anne and Tom Clear as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial mass followed by a Celebration of Life for Elaine on Saturday, May 19 at 11 am at St. Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge St, Winchester, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elaine’s name to Robbins Library, 700 Mass Ave, Arlington MA 02476. Many thanks to the staff at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for their immense kindness and support of Elaine in her final days. Order Flowers
