Edward Lewis Coombs, 84, set forth on the next great adventure with his lifelong sweetheart, Marcia, on May 7, 2019. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 7, 1935, to Lewis B. Coombs and Wanda Wood. He grew up in his beloved Farmington and graduated from Davis High. Right after graduation he served with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He served in the North Central States Mission. From there he attended various universities majoring in Forestry. He met the love of his life Marcia Leone Martindale and they married on September 5, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including that as a member of the bishopric. He LOVED being outdoors, especially with family. He liked sharing his life experiences and wisdom. He was a talker. YES, he could talk your ear off. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia, parents, Lewis Coombs, Wanda and Wesley B. Williams and his sister Sharon Elliott. He left behind a legacy of one daughter, Leslie (Bob) Severe (Cheyenne, Wyoming), two sons Kurt (Vickie) Coombs (Gardendale, Texas), Max (Jenny) Coombs (Waco, Texas) 21 grand-children, 19 ½ great-grand-children, his two sisters, Estelle (Jerry) Stam (Tremonton, Utah), Julie (Jerry) King (Clinton, Utah) and his fury buddy, Koko. Visitation will be held in Evanston, at Crandall Funeral Home 800 Uinta St Evanston, Wyoming on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 3-5 PM and on Monday May 13, 2019 at the LDS Chapel 251 Elm Street Evanston, Wyoming from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Farmington City Cemetery, 500 S 200 E Farmington, Utah at 1:30 PM on that same day.
