Eddie Colella May 9 2019

Eddie Colella, 67, of Owasco, died at home on May 9th after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was born and lived most of his life in the Auburn area, with several years spent in Florida. As a restaurateur, Eddie was a controller and owner of several restaurants in central NY and Florida. He was both an athlete and passionate sports fan, especially of the NY Yankees and Giants. For years he was a softball pitcher for the Auburn A League. Eddie loved to golf and was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time hunting and fishing. He was also a voracious reader of both sports and history, and was rarely without a book at his side. He had a beautiful smile and kind heart, sponsoring a number of children through the Save the Children Federation, and giving generously every month until his death to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Eddie is survived by his beloved wife and son Claire and Christian, sister Madeline Poole and her husband Mark, and many wonderful in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly. Eddie is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Florence (Lotito) Colella. The family would like to thank the medical teams at Wilmot Cancer Center of the UR and Hospice of the Finger Lakes for their outstanding care and compassion throughout Eddie’s illness. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be planned for a future date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Eddie Colella May 9 2019.
