Dorothy A Stewart September 20 1922 May 26 2019 (age 96)

Dorothy A. Stewart, 96, a resident of Oakdale, LI for nearly twenty-five years, died on Sunday, May 26, 2019. An avid and well respected artist, Mrs. Stewart was a member of several art groups including; Wet Paints in Sayville, Kent Art Association in Kent, CT, and the Salmagundi Club for the Fine Arts in Manhattan. Over the years, Dorothy received several awards for her art and was named in the Who’s Who in American Art. Mrs. Stewart was also an active member of the Sayville United Methodist Church, which she viewed as her second family. Mrs. Stewart was predeceased by her husband David in 2004. She is survived by her two sons, Allan of Florida and Robert of Selden, her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Marion Hauser. Friends and relatives will gather 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a religious service will be held at 8 p.m. with Rev. Richard Allen of the Sayville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30th.
