Imogene was born March 15, 1929 in Sugar Grove, VA. She lived in the Bluefield area and graduated from Bluefield High School in 1947, the same year she married the love of her life, James William Remines. The couple settled in Falls Mills, where they raised their five children, James Remines, Jr. and wife, Miriam of Colonial Beach, VA, Virginia Gibson and husband, Robert of Princeton, WV, Bruce Remines and wife, Chris of Bluefield, VA, Brenda Greene and late husband, Gary of Falls Mills, VA and Pricilla Berry and husband, Jim of Great Falls, VA. She was known as “Mamaw” to her eight grandchildren, Kim Mutterback, Todd Gibson, Justin Remines, Stefanie Remines, Bruce Courtney Remines, Dr. Kevin Greene and Amy Greene and ten great-grandchildren, Bryce Mutterback, Conner and Andrew Gibson, Kassidy and Justin Remines, Isabella Remines, Kathryn, Natalie and Emily Greene and Rachel Taylor. Imogene was a homemaker and became a world traveler later in life as she helped with her daughter’s business. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Remines, Sr, grandson, Joey Remines and brothers, Joseph Sawyers, Sr, Terry Sawyers and Donnie Sawyers. Services will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, VA with Rev Ted Anders officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Dudley Memorial or 10:00 A.M. on Friday. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Imogene attended Falls Mills United Methodist faithfully for more than 60 years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her church located at 116 Angel Lane, Falls Mills, VA 24613.
