Mrs. Doris Eleanor Masters Perkins, 84, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Perkins, the daughter of the late Johnnie Masters and Annie Hill Masters, was born in Madison County on November 11, 1934. She was a member of Grace Chapel Wesleyan Church, a homemaker and had spent many years as a caregiver. On February 13, 1954, Mrs. Perkins united in marriage to Elra “Perk” Perkins, Sr. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1971. She is survived by two sons: John Wayne (& Marsha) Perkins of Richmond and Elra Morris Perkins, Jr. of Berea; her daughter: Mary (& Duane) Tevis of Richmond; three brothers: Frank Masters; Rev. Bill (& Wanda) Masters and Rev. Tommy (Dorothy) Masters; two sisters: Marie Hamilton and Mary Lou (& Bobby) Sheets; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Perkins was also preceded in death by her brother: Pierce “Coon” Masters and Russell Masters and two sisters: Dolly Jean Taylor and Velma Dargavell. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Lee Hamilton, Bo Robinson, Glenn Masters, Nick Perkins, Nelson Tevis, Austin Perkins and Bobby Masters. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Tevis, Lee Shaw, Jimmy Taylor, Billy Taylor, Tommy Taylor and Johnnie Taylor.
