Doris’ Obituary Doris Jean Hummel passed away on June 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas and is holding the hand of her beloved husband Ray in the arms of our Lord and Savior. A memorial service to honor her life and love she had for her family and friends will occur at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, Virginia. In Harrisonburg, Jean worked at Dunham-Bush, Com-Sonic and Great Eastern Resort in addition to her work as a devoted wife to Ray and beloved mother to Greg. In 2004, she and Ray moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to her son and his family. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church in Harrisonburg, and in San Antonio, she was a member of the University United Methodist Church where she played dominoes every Thursday morning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her soulmate and husband, Ray; her sisters Janet and Margaret; and her niece Barbara. She is survived by her son, Gregory; daughter-in-law, Pamela; granddaughter, Danielle; and great grandson, Ethan Gregory; as well as her niece who was like a daughter to her, Brenda Comer; and other nieces, nephews and cousins.
