He was born in Durham County on July 28, 1946 to the late Richard Patterson Oliver, Jr. and Lucy Gladys Harper Oliver. He is also preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Oliver, his twin brother, Ronald P. Oliver and sister, Betty Lou Jones. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Selma Church of God with the Reverend Douglas Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Selma Church of God. He is survived by his son, Jason Thomas Oliver of Smithfield; daughter, Dana Jackson Oliver Webb of Smithfield, 4 grandchildren, Aaron Jackson Webb, Dylan James Webb, Jackson Thomas Oliver, Katilyn Gabriella Webb; brothers, Richard Carroll Oliver of Selma, and Ricky Lee Oliver of Smithfield; sisters, Mavorine Willoughby of Selma and Marilyn Mozingo at Smithfield.
