Don L. Wilkinson, age 81, died Monday, May 20, 2019, at his residence. Visitation will held on Thursday, May 23, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the First United Methodist Church, 500 W. Liveoak Street, Coleman, with Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Don L. Wilkinson was born on August 28, 1937 in Coleman, Texas, a son of Alva L. Wilkinson and Ruth Tisdale Wilkinson. He grew up in Coleman where he attended school, graduating in the Coleman High School Class of 1955. On May 6, 1957 he married Judi Reynolds in Coleman. He was a life-long farmer and loved farming, growing milo, wheat and oats. He was a fourth generation Coleman County farmer. He was a proud member of the NRA, the Coleman Rodeo Association, and the First United Methodist Church in Coleman. In his “occasional” free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, Dallas cowboys (when they are winning) and cooking at his barn. Survivors include his wife, Judi Wilkinson of Coleman; two daughters, Lezli Martin and husband Tyke of Bryan and Janet Pierce and husband Wade of Bellville; five grandchildren, Sasha Kana, Duncan Martin, Grayson Martin, Mallory Neill, Morgan Smallwood; four great-grandchildren, Bailey Martin, Langley Neill, Kashlin Kana, Knox Kana; one brother, Tom Wilkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Ruth Wilkinson, and a sister, Mary Roach.
