Don Horton October 1 1939 May 7 2019 (age 79)

Don Horton, 79, of Mt. Sterling died on May 7, 2019 at VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Morgan County on October 1, 1939 to the late Troy and Dolly Horton. Don was an active member of Midland First Church of God in Salt Lick. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club, former Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed gardening, music and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter Isabelle. Don loved the Lord and will be missed by friends and family. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years Carole Horton of Mt. Sterling; two daughters Sherri Rhodes (Brian) of NY and Marsha Litton (Ron) of Lexington; one brother Ron Horton (Brenda) of IN; one sister Barbara Kazee (Burl) of OH; one granddaughter Isabelle Rhodes of NY and brother in-law Johnny Redwine (Trish) of Versailes. In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by six brothers Jessie Horton, Sam Horton, Henry Horton, Dave Horton, Bert Horton and Dempsey Horton and five sisters Jo Banks, Jeanette Banks, Louise Blanton, Gypsy Didato and Thelma Harris. Memorial service will be Friday, May 10, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Midland First Church of God in Salt Lick. Reverend Bush Stevenson will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to “Walk to End Alzheimer’s”, Team Fighting Together, 2808 Palumbo Drive, Suite 205 Lexington, Kentucky 40509.
