DOMENIC LEONTI September 23 1923 May 9 2019 (age 95)

LEONTI, Domenic, 95, of Oaktree Dr., Johnston, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was husband of the late Romilda (Cerrone) Leonti. Born in Bristol, he was a son of the late Rosario and Marietta (Martinelli) Leonti. Domenic was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre and then in Germany, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a Kitchen Supervisor for over 30 years at the VA Hospital in Providence before retiring in 1984. He was a lifelong passionate and devoted Red Sox fan. He is survived by two sons, Ronald Leonti and his wife Robin of Johnston and Richard Leonti of Coventry and three grandchildren, Lauren, Elaina and Brianna Leonti. He was a brother of the late Stephen, Joseph and Valentino Leonti, Josephine Arlia and Matilda Gallant and special friend of the late Virginia Loiselle. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019 from 8:45 – 10:15 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, West Warwick. Interment will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in Domenic’s name to the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809 would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
