Waynesville – Dolly Marshall Welch, 95, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at her residence. A native of Neshoba County, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Callie Petty Marshal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julius F. Welch, who died in 1999; and two grandchildren. Dolly owned and operated Dolly’s Beauty Salon in Bethel since 1960 and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Welch (Donald Bruce) of Advance, North Carolina; one son, Jerry Welch (Elaine) of Waynesville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The care of Mrs. Welch has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes and an online memorial register is available at “Obituaries” at www.wellsfuneralhome.com
