Visitation will be held from 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5, and one hour prior to services on Monday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Ufkes officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. He was born on March 19, 1996, in Naperville, to Judd and Laura (Walter) Leppert. Dane left this earth much too soon. He will be missed dearly. The first grandchild of the family, he shared his birthday with his great-grandmother, Amy Scott. Dane graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 2014. He was a member of the Marseilles Boy Scout Troop 799, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout the highest level of achievement in boy scouts. He dreamed of one day being an aeronautical engineer and working with NASA. He is survived by his parents, Judd and Laura Leppert of Marseilles; three sisters, Amanda (Augusto) Leppert Gomes of Carbondale, IL, and Emily and Natalie Leppert of Marseilles; his grandparents, Russell and Rosemary Walter of Yorkville and Dan and Patricia Leppert of Richford WI; his great-grandmothers; Amy Scott and Elizabeth “Betty” Walter; godparents, Sheila Teausaw, Karen Dickson, and Alex Rogers; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Virlyn Walter, Edward “Harvey” Ojard, Frances Smith, Oliver and Margaret “Irene” Leppert, and Austin Scott.
