Charles P. Woodworth, 84, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. He was born May 30, 1934 in Albion, Pa. He was the son of Dan & Gertrude (Seaman) Woodworth. Charles served in the US Navy before being honorably discharged. Charles received his Master’s Degree from University of Buffalo. He retired from Rochester City School District in 1990. He belonged to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Charles sang for many Barber Shop Harmony Groups. He enjoyed playing the trombone, sailing on the Canandaigua Lake, fishing, traveling extensively with his wife and spending time with his granddaughters. Survivors include his wife, Janiece (Floro) whom he married on March 10, 1956; children, Melinda Wagner, Phelps, NY, James (Nancy) Woodworth of Mashpee, Mass., and Jennifer (Alvaro) Benavides of Round Rock, TX; granddaughters, Melinda, Diana, Rebecca and Jami; brother, Fred Woodworth of Antrim, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Saturday July 6, 2019 at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut. American Legion Cowle Post #151 will conduct military honors at 2:00 PM Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
