Carlos’ Obituary Carlos Leigh Walker, age 92, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Arcadia, Florida, born on December 23, 1926 to Adron C. Walker and Garnette McCormick. Carlos was a man dedicated to his country and community, having served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II, as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, and as an employee of Florida Power & Light for more than 40 years in Arcadia. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the beach, and spending time with his loving family. He is survived by one son, Adron Hays (Gayle) Walker of Bradenton, FL; and one daughter, Alexis Walker of Titusville, FL. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 1-2:30 pm at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 North Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia with Pastor Alan Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia (firstpc.church) or the Alzheimer’s Assn. (Alz.org). Read More
