BUSTER BUCK BLAKENEY June 4 1927 May 24 2019 (age 91)

Buster “Buck” Blakeney went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2019, He was born June 4, 1927 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late Walter Blakeney and Ida Mae (Sowell) Raley. Buster moved to Canton, Ohio in 1951. He was employed and retired from Canton Malleable Iron after 35 years. Mr. Blakeney was known as the “Jack of all trades.” If it was broken, he would fix it. Buster enjoyed baking, fishing and was an avid woodcraftsman. He never met anyone that he couldn’t help. Buster met and married his wife Irene (Dillard) Blakeney in 1956. They were married for 45 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Irene; son, Roosevelt Birl, Jr. (Canton, OH); daughter, Gloriateen Miller (Jefferson, SC); brother, Curlee (Pete) Raley (Canton, OH). He leaves to cherish his memory his children: son, Pastor David (Barbara) Williams of Goldsboro, NC; daughter, Rosemary (Birl) Klema; son, James Blakeney, Sr. of Canton, OH; (21) grandchildren; (16) great-grandchildren; (10) nieces and nephews; special cousin, Lucille Howell; special friend and caregiver, Angela Amendola; special friends, Bill and Pat Ralls, Renee Heard, and a host of additional relatives and friends
