Billy David Basham March 24 1955 May 1 2019

Billy David Basham, 64, of Elliston, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. David was born March 24, 1955, at home in West Virginia, to the late Carl and Almedia Basham. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Basham. David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jennifer Basham; sons, Ben (wife Brandy) Basham and Josh Basham; grandchildren, Ashley and Blake Basham; brothers, Paul (wife Ethel) Basham, Richard (wife Betty) Basham, and Tom Basham; sisters, Carol Vanderhoof and Lori Jones; and many other family members who loved him dearly. David enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He loved spending time in the cabin he built on the mountain with his sons and just enjoying what nature had to offer. He also spent time there reading his mother’s bible that she had written notes and prayers for many members of our family. I believe it was a place of peace for him. Visitation and celebration of life will be held by the family on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family would like a donation to a cancer foundation of your choice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Billy David Basham please visit our Sympathy Store.
