Bernadette Doris Remson, 51, of Fort Collins, died May 29, 2019. Bernadette was born in South Dakota on October 23, 1967 to parents James and Janice Brockel. She and her family later moved to Fort Collins, where she graduated from Rocky Mountain High School. Bernadette worked at McDonalds in both Rapid City and Fort Collins and she loved her job there. She was very personable and adored her nieces and nephews. She also loved animals and named every dog “Scooter”. Bernadette treasured her Dooney and Bourke handbags and everyone will remember her always beautiful nails. Bernadette is survived by her son, Derek Matterson; parents James and Janice Brockel; siblings, Bret Brockel, Brad Brockel, Bridget (Kirk) Koehler, and Danielle Brockel (Joe Flint); nieces and nephews, Brittany Brockel, Chelsea Brockel, Zachariah Brockel, Nicolas Koehler Gage Koehler, JT Flint, and Jaxen Flint; great niece, Emma Jones; and great nephew, Logan Jones; She was preceded in death by grandparents, Gottlieb and Carolyn Brockel, and Eugene and Doris Gilbert; uncles, Daniel Steele, Morgan, Donald, and Glenn Brockel, and Donald Gilbert; and aunts, Myrene, Donna and Avis Brockel. A memorial service for Bernadette will take place at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Southgate Church, 6541 S. College Ave, Fort Collins.
