Aleda Elizabeth Bailey, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin. Aleda was the daughter of Edna and Hilmer Halverson—born on January 20, 1935, at their home in the Town of Clifton in Monroe County, Wisconsin. Aleda farmed with her family in rural Kendall, attended the Tunnel School, and graduated from New Lisbon High School in 1953. She met her husband, John A. Bailey, in Tomah, Wisconsin, and were married on November 12, 1955. From heaven, she now watches over her husband, John, and her three children: David (Joanne) of Cumberland, WI; Mark (Gina) of North Prairie, WI, and Rebekah of LaCrosse, WI. She is loved by her grandchildren: Seth (Tammy) Bailey of Cumberland; Hannah Bailey of Madison, WI; Claire Bailey of Eau Claire, WI; and Isaac Bailey also of Madison. She was also blessed with a great grandson, Weston Bailey. Aleda is also loved and remembered by her siblings: Richard (Janet) Halverson of Loyal, WI; Marcella (Ron) Lauden of New Lisbon, WI; Sonia (Charles) Murphy of Kendall, WI; Marian (Richard) Preuss of Elroy, WI; John (Rosie) Halverson of New Lisbon, and Chuck (Janet) Halverson of Grand Rapids, MI. She is also remembered by her cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Hilmer Halverson, along with several other loved family members. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Bethany Lutheran Church (618 W. River St., New Lisbon, WI 53950). Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Bethany Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m, with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fountain Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Kendall.
