Mrs. Jolene Helms Lamb entered Heaven on March 25, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Robert (Bob) Lamb who died September 1, 2007.
Jolene was born on September 20, 1932 to Carl and Hattie Helms of Smithville, Arkansas both preceded her in death.
Jolene is survived by one daughter: Rebecca Derendya (Rendy) Lightfoot and Stephen of Kennett, Missouri.
Two granddaughters: Amanda Jobeth Roberts and Allen of Kennett, Missouri
Stacey Derendya Fitzpatrick and Daniel of Ashland, Missouri.
She is also survived by six great grandchildren: Lance, Grahm and John Stephen Roberts of Kennett, Missouri and Joelle Derendya, Hattie Beth and Jude Fitzpatrick of Ashland, Missouri
One brother: Leon (Juanita) Helms, four nephews: Royce (Debbie) Helms, Dr. Roger (Marla) Helms all of Smithville, Arkansas as well as Dr. C.M. Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Dr. John Robert Baker of Batesville, Arkansas.
Jolene was an elementary teacher for thirty seven years as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Girl Scout Leader Troop 146, MRTA and was a very active member of First Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, WMU past president and choir member up until recently. Jolene received her Bachelor and Masters degree from Arkansas State University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and was selected Pi Kappa Alpha Dreamgirl of 1953.
Visitation will be 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri with Reverend Ardell Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Allen Roberts, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Roger Helms, Lance Roberts, Alex Helms and Royce Helms.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Choir Fund or the Women’s Ministry or the charity of your choice such as St. Jude, Cancer Research, Diabetes, Kidney Foundation, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts of America.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the arrangements.
