Walter’s Obituary My father, Walter Darr Ellis, passed away early this morning at the VA in Amarillo, Texas. He was 91 years old.Service will be held Monday February 25, 2019 In the Chapel on Osage at Rector Funeral Home at 2PM. My dad served two, full hitches in the US Navy and served during WWII and the Korean War. He was a proud seaman reaching the rank of second class petty officer. When he was in his mid-40s, he had an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed his life. He spent a number of years preparing for the ministry and spent the second half of his life preaching God’s Word and pastoring at Forest Hill Baptist Church. He loved Storytelling with his grandchildren. Walter was a part of Masons and Knights Templar of texas” as well as many other orginizations. He was loved and he will be missed; but where he is now is a far better place. Walter is preceded in death by; Parents William Walter and Edna Ellis, Wife, Hazel Ellis, sister, Ellen Hargert, and Brother Elmo Ellis.
