Virginia E. Blackmon of Okeechobee, Florida March 17, 1922 – February 8, 2019 Virginia E Blackmon “Ms. B”, age 96, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2019 in Arcadia, FL. Virginia was born in Nocatee, FL March 17, 1922 to the late Andrew H. and Zenobia Keen Garner. She was a secretary for a local veterinarian (Matthews Animal Hospital) for more than 25 years. Virginia was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, the Womens Missionary Union, and Brownsville Baptist Church. She was very active in her church until her health began to decline. Virginia enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. Virginia is survived by her nephew, Lawrence Randolph “Randy” Sullivan, Okeechobee, FL, and a cousin, Charlie Garner, N. Carolina, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Blackmon, her parents, one sister, Mildred Collier, and a brother, Andy Garner Jr. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 15th at 1:00pm from the graveside, Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, FL. Rev. Jerry Atkins will officiate. A visitation will be conducted one hour prior to burial.
