Obituary for Tommy Ellis Edwards Print Tommy Ellis Edwards, age 43, of Morganton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 6, 1975, son of the late Boyd Edwards and Louise Gortney Edwards. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Johnny and Billy Edwards. Tommy was a faithful member of East Hudson Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was employed by Bernhardt and enjoyed working in construction. Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Karen and one son Kyle Edwards of the home. Tommy is also survived by four sisters, Linda Epley (Nelson) of Rutherfordton, Brenda Hoyle (Jamie) of Morganton, Wanda Chapman (Bob) of Morganton, KathyYount (Charles) of Morganton and a brother, Harvey Edwards of Morganton as well as a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Mackie Funeral Home. The service will take place on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 3:00 PM at East Hudson Baptist Church in Hudson officiated by Rev. Ricky Greene and Rev. Matthew Moody.
