Rona Evelyn King Trotter, 86, of Asheboro, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Clapp’s Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Charles Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born in Randolph County, NC, on January 1, 1933, Mrs. Trotter was the daughter of the late Robert Lee King and Bertha Jane Bean King. She had worked for Fox Drug Store and retired from Randolph Vocational Workshop. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro. Mrs. Trotter enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales and having yard sales. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trotter was preceded in death by her husband, James Trotter. Surviving are her sister, Martha King, of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Ann McLaughlin, of Asheboro; and many great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 133 N. Church Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
