Richard “Dick” Wayne Kruger age 85 of Auburn, IN and formerly of Garrett died Friday, February 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 11, 1934 in Garrett, IN to Charles E. and Theresa (Crary) Kruger. He married Thelma C. Bartels on October 26, 1952 in Garrett, IN. Dick was a lifetime meat cutter and owner of Kruger’s Market. He was a member of the First Baptist Church – Garrett, IN; Garrett Elks and Eagles and was a 20 years member of the Garrett Fire Department. Dick is survived by his wife: Thelma C. Kruger, Auburn, IN; son: Robert (Tammy) Kruger, LaOtto, IN; 2 daughters: Susan (Clark) Bergdall, Auburn, IN and Sandra (Randy) Surfus, Garrett, IN; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Janice Nodine, Garrett, IN and Virginia Bock, Kendallville, IN. Dick was preceded in death by his parents: Charles E. and Theresa Kruger and brother: Warren Kruger Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church – Garrett, IN with Rev. David Mix officiating. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the church.
