He was born on December 8, 1936 in Taylorville, the son of Ray and Mary Collingwood. He married Dorothy Marie Faulhaber on July 23, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and she preceded him in death on August 3, 2015. Raymond retired from Commonwealth Edison where he worked as an instrument mechanic. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was devoted to caring for his family. He is survived by his sons: Mike Collingwood (Mindy) of Taylorville and Doug Collingwood (Kathy) of Edinburg; daughter: Deborah Steele (Dave) of Springfield; and grandchildren: Tyler Collingwood (Kate), Allison Collingwood, and Ryan Collingwood (Ashley). He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Collingwood will be cremated, and a memorial mass will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. No visitation will be held. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
