Philip R. Thornsbury of Tiverton, Rhode Island February 16, 2019 TIVERTON… Philip R. Thornsbury, 76, of Tiverton passed away, Sunday, February 16, 2019 at his home. He was born in Iaeger, West Virginia, a son of the late Lawrence T. and Mary E. (Collins) Thornsbury and had lived in Tiverton for many years. Mr. Thornsbury was employed for many years by Swan Finishing in Fall River. He enjoyed salt water fishing, working on old cars, was known for being good with his hands, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan. Survivors include his son: Philip R. Thornsbury, Jr. of Tiverton; his daughter: Deborah A. Wordell of Little Compton; 4 grandchildren: Bryan, Kerri, Philip, and Nicole; 6 great grandchildren: Bryan, Isabella, Ava, Pauline, Myia, and Sophie; and his longtime companion: Olivia Raposa. He was the brother of the late Luther D., Donald E., Auldie M., Robert, and Jackie R. Thornsbury, Dorothy Joy Francis, Janis Roberts, Claris Manchester and Carol Silvia. The family would like to extend a special thanks to South Coast Hospice. A celebration of Philip’s life will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10 AM at Lil Bear Sports Pub, 983 Main Rd. Tiverton, RI 02878. Arrangements are entrusted to Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721.
