Mavis’ Obituary Mavis Lorette Clark, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the age of 93. She was born at Lauderdale County, Alabama on January 15, 1926, to the late Bert and Dora Hairrell. Lorette was joined in marriage to the late Joel W. Clark in 1946. She attended Wood Street Assembly of God. She loved gardening, riding amusement park rides, mowing grass and fishing. She is remembered as a talented quilter, baker, cook, loving mother, grandmother and pastor’s wife. Her greatest joys were being outside and spending time with her family. Lorette was preceded in death by her husband Joel and their daughter, Dora Lee Weiss. Survivors include her son Joel L. Clark and wife, Judith of Springfield, Missouri, son-in-law Ted Weiss of Park Hills, Missouri, three grandchildren, Joel L. Clark, Jr., Cari Weiss Luttrell and husband, Jason, Travis Weiss and wife, Lyndsey, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Bonnie Bean and husband, Paul and good friend Sharon Hutton. Also surviving are many more extended family and good friends. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Paul Bean Sr. and Cass Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be Joel L. Clark Jr., Ted Weiss, Travis Weiss, Jason Luttrell, Dennis Smith, and Paul Bean Jr. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
