Marcella E. Gustafson, 89, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her home. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Church of the Visitation – Camanche. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Koby Kooi, Todd Monaghan, Jeff Glosser, Brad Weber, Ryan Lorenzen, and Tony Walker. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Friday at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Marcella Elaine Burmeister was born on April 18, 1929 in Lost Nation, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Sarah (Ralston) Burmeister. She was a graduate of Lost Nation High School. She married Robert D. Gustafson on January 7, 1950 in Clinton; he died May 31, 2003. Marcella was employed with AC Nielsen for over 30 years. She was a member of Church of the Visitation – Camanche. Marcella is survived by her two daughters: Sharon (Michael) Monaghan of Clinton; Pamela (Michael) Kooi of Camanche; 9 grandchildren: Robin Monaghan of Clinton, Rikkel (Jeff) Glosser of Fremont, Nebraska, Renee (Tony) Walker of Woodstock, Illinois, Kacee (Brad) Weber of Camanche, Korey (Ryan Lorenzen) Kooi of Camanche, Katie Monaghan of Clinton, Koby (Corie) Koob of Camanche, Todd (Megan) Monaghan of Clinton; Donal Monaghan of North Dakota; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great granddaughters, 6 great-great grandchildren; her brother: Virgil (Haidi) Burmeister of Lost Nation; several nieces and nephews; her best friend: Betty Happel, and her card club buddies.
