Mrs. Lorene West, age 88 of Franklin, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 8:46 PM at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 3, 2018 with burial to follow in the Hillsdale Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY. Lorene was born September 9, 1930 in Macon Co., TN. to the late James Ethel Dyer and the late Martha Lee Stafford Dyer. She was the wife of the late Charles H. West. She was preceded in death by 8 sisters Mamie Lee, Mary, Irine, Ethel May, Callie Dee, Estelle, Ophelia and Neal. She is survived by a son Chuck West of Franklin, KY, a daughter Pat Robinson of Franklin, KY, a brother James Martin Dyer of Martinsville, IN, 6 grandchildren Chris Bishop, Chuddy West, Stephanie Brawner, Chrissy Wheeler, David Robinson and Christy Fuqua. Several great and great great grandchildren also survive. Lorene was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Franklin Elementary and formerly worked at RCA in Indianapolis and Potter & Brumfield in Franklin, KY Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2019 and from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2019 and from 6:00 AM until service time Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
