Lois’ Obituary Lois S. Klingel, 89, of East Stroudsburg, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, February 21, 2019, in her home. She was the wife of Charles H. Klingel, Sr. with whom she shared 69 years of marriage on July 2, 2018. Born on February 28, 1929 in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Ruth (Learn) Smith and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She was a 1947 graduate of Stroudsburg High School; and in earlier years worked for Ronson’s Lighter Company and Rea & Derrick Drug Store. Lois was a member of “Belles of The Meadows”. She loved watching the birds and enjoyed feeding the neighborhood animals; but most of all she enjoyed the time when her family was all together. In addition to her husband, surviving are four children, Steven Klingel, Barry A. Klingel and wife Laurie, Charles Klingel, Jr. and wife Marie, and Lori Van Horn and husband Leon all of East Stroudsburg; and five grandchildren, Nathan Klingel, Allison Ross and husband Scott, Nicole Fox and husband Justin, Jeremy Van Horn and wife Kaitlyn, and Jessica Van Horn. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Dolores Driefus and Duane Smith. Private service will take place at the convenience of the family. Cremation was private and burial will take place at a later date in Laurelwood Cemetery.
