OBITUARY Lois E. McGlawn January 28, 1928 – January 26, 2019 Lois England McGlawn, age 90, of Helena, AL passed away on January 26, 2019. She was born January 28, 1928 to Martin Van Buren England and Bertha Hand England. Lois was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband George Millard McGlawn; son Adrian Van McGlawn; brothers Hershell Rudolph England and Chester Franklin “Buddy” England; half-brothers Harry England, Jack England, and Preston England; sisters Ozella Bernice Wilson and Clytie Mae Rutherford; and half-sister Eudora Eubanks. She is survived by her son Millard Blane (Nita) McGlawn; daughter-in-law Sue McGlawn; sister Robin Brashier; grandchildren Joseph Blane (Renzo) McGlawn, Nicholas Bryant (Hilary) McGlawn, Kathryn “Katie” Olivia McGlawn, Matthew Tyler McGlawn (fiancée Amber), and Bradley West McGlawn. Lois was a career employee of the U.S. Postal Service, progressing during her employment from part-time clerk to the position of Postmaster in Helena, Alabama. She was a life-long resident of Helena, and a member of the Helena United Methodist Church. She touched many lives in Helena during her lifetime. A graveside service will be held at Helena Cemetery on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Luis Ortega, Amedisys Chaplain, officiating. Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL, directing.
