Lloyd E McNair December 20 1941 February 11 2019

Honoring the Life, Love, and Spirit of Mr. Lloyd E. McNair Sunrise December 20, 1941 Sunset February 11, 2019 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 A Time to be Born…. Mr. Lloyd E. McNair, son of the late Reverend Robert McNair, Sr. and Negolia Robinson McNair, was born on December 20, 1941 in Northampton County, North Carolina. He was the eighth of twelve children in the Robinson and McNair union. A Time for Christian Discipleship… Lloyd was loved in a Christian home, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior, and was baptized at an early age. He joined Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church of Jackson, NC and later became a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church of Deanwood Heights, Washington, DC. A Time to Live… Lloyd, affectionately known as “Da”, “Lloyd Edward”, “Pop”, “Mami”, “McNair”, and “Big Money”, received his education through the Weldon City School System. He dreamed of a bright future and set his sights on promising journey up north in search of employment opportunities and a quest to see the world beyond the countryside. He found employment with the Architect of the Capitol (United States Senate) in Washington, DC where he worked diligently, retiring in the procurement division after forty years. Lloyd had a heart of helping and loved his family immensely. Upon finding prominent employment with the United States Senate, he was determined to provide for his parents and assist his family with the same promising employment opportunities afforded him. He was a pivotal advocate in the hiring of three of his brothers, two brother-in-laws, nephews and close friends from his hometown to the Architect of the Capitol. He believed in lending a helping hand, keeping his word, and looking out for the next man. Shortly after retiring from the U.S. Senate, he became a vital “Right Hand” to his daughter Shelley as she set out on the quest of following her dreams as an entrepreneur. Lloyd, “Da” worked alongside his daughter for over 10 years at Pink November Boutique, Washington, DC – never late nor missing a day of work. He encouraged her to “get back into the game/don’t quit your daydream” and assisted in the start-up of their next business venture; www.gipsylicious.com where he worked daily until his health required a temporary hold to begin the greatest fight of Faith for his health. Lloyd’s strength and determination to overcome great challenges created a new beautiful life for him full of wisdom, discipline, accountability, and love; he was proud of his sobriety. This year will make 22 years strong and he’s never looked back! He loved to play checkers, daily walks in the Mall, old cowboy movies, family gatherings, golf, pool, working alongside his daughter most evenings, and being a phone call away from anyone in their time of need. A Time to Embrace… Precious memories of his smile, love, deeds, back-in-the-day stories, advice, and words of comfort will forever live in the hearts and lives of his children: Shelley McNair of Maryland, Michael Smith (Shelly) of Georgia, Kimberly Owen (Adrian) of Virginia, Jermaine Neal (honorary) of Washington, DC.
