Leroy “Butch” Daniels, Jr. passed away Saturday, January 5th at the age of 63. He was born on November 9, 1955 to Leroy Daniels, Sr. and Ada Lewis. Butch was a hard-working man who was well known for his big attitude and huge heart. A day never went by that he wasn’t seen driving his truck and trailer around town with a huge smile on his face, waving out the window. Butch started Daniels Lawn Service, Inc. in 1987 and continued to grow his legacy in 2016 when Daniels Climate Control Storage was born. Butch had a love of fast, flashy cars. While cruising in one of his hot rods in 1976 he met his wife of 42 years, Nora. Together they had two children, Jamie and Michael. While he loved his children dearly, his proudest assets were his grandchildren and he bragged about them daily. Some of Papa Butch’s favorite times were spent chasing them around on 4 wheelers, dancing and playing with baby dolls. Butch was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Daniels Sr., brother Larry Daniels, and sister Laurie Durbin. He leaves behind his wife, Nora (Cooper) Daniels, daughter Jamie (Daniels) Slone and grandson Taylor Slone and great-grandson Carson Slone, son, Michael Daniels and wife Michelle (Maples) Daniels, and grandchildren Ethan Daniels, Aidan Daniels, Dylan Daniels, and Zoey Daniels; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that were as close as family. To us he leaves behind a wealth of beautiful memories, but as an organ donor he leaves the gift of life to other families in need of a miracle. Visitation for Butch will be Saturday, January 12 at James and Gahr Mortuary from 10am to 1pm with services to follow.
