John William “Bill” Sutherland January 31, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook John William “Bill” Sutherland, 69, of Chillicothe, died 7:53 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 7, 1949, in Chillicothe, to the late Howard and Grace Woodruff Sutherland. Surviving are a daughter, Heather Sutherland, of Chillicothe; sons, John (Jennifer) Sutherland, of Deland, FL and Matthew “Grady” (Amanda) Sutherland, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Aaren (Kirsten), Kyle and Connor Haines, Ashley, Abigail, Ava, Anna and Amelia Sutherland, Lauren Ragland and Addison Sutherland; a great grandson, Hudson Haines; a brother, Clyde Eugene (Mary “Corky”) Sutherland and Howard “Jitter” (June) Sutherland, both of Chillicothe; a brother-in-law, Carl Collins, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Patricia Olson and Barbara Collins; and a brother, Ellsworth F. “Buster” Sutherland. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Clinton County Memorial Hospital where he was a Supervisor. Bill had also worked for the Mead Corporation. The family wishes to express a special “thank you” to the staff of the Bradley Cancer Center at Berger Hospital for the wonderful care give to Bill and compassion shown to our family during this time. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jon Welch officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ware Funeral Home to help the family.
