Joe Cannon Freeman Jr., 72, of Midland passed away peacefully at Morningside of Concord after an impressive battle with illness. Joe was the son of the late Joe Cannon Freeman, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Mullis) Freeman. Joe was also preceded in death by his sister, Joey Flowe (Mitchell). Joe Jr. leaves behind four sisters Judy Lee (husband Bobby), Bobbie Barbee (husband Wayne), Robin Freeman, and Darla Albert (husband Craig); and one brother Alan Freeman (wife Marina Martinez). All Joe’s family members live in Midland, except Darla who lives in McLean, Virginia. Joe was an adored brother and son. He loved caring for his dogs and cats. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Humane Society of Concord. We especially thank Tammy Brown and the loving staff at Morningside of Concord, and special caregivers Jennifer LaForce and Carly Barnhardt. We would also like to thank Hospice of Cabarrus County, especially Jennifer Moose. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:45 pm, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland.
