Hugh’s Obituary Hugh Henry Vaughn, a resident of Leavenworth, Kansas since 1965, passed away February 21, 2019. Hugh was born December 19, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas to Arthur Edward Vaughn and Nellie Jane Croft. He married Audrey Michel on March 12, 1955. They later divorced. He is survived by his long time companion of 38 years Louise Crosby, son Michael (Cathy) Vaughn, daughter Patricia {Ken} Snodgrass, granddaughter Kristen {Lucas} Hix, great granddaughter Kaia Hix, sisters-in-law Dorothy Vaughan and Anna Vaughn, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Eunice Pedigo and Gertrude Simmons, brothers Frank, James, and Tom. Hugh was a member of the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for TWA for over 22 years. He and his brother, Frank, owned and operated a small engine repair business in Leavenworth for 13 years. He retired in 1993. Hugh had been a member of FOE #55 since 1966. He enjoyed fishing, repairing yard equipment, and gaming. Several of the local casinos will miss his regular contributions.
