Harold M. Dorf of Petoskey, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife Arlene and his step daughters Sandra, Sue and Charlene and grandchildren Grace, Grant, Drake and Ava. For over three decades Hal was a professor of business at Northern Michigan University and led student driven study programs, student intern programs and founded the Office of International Affairs. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan University and earned a Master’s degree in international business from IMEDE University in Lausanne, Switzerland. His commitment to excellence and inspiration touched the lives of people around the world. A tribute to Hal by NMU was held in August 2009 and celebrated by his students and colleages. He was a proud member of the Phi Theta fraternity. He was born to Harold and Rose Dorf in 1938 in Redford Township, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley and Joanne and his brother Daniel and is survived by his brothers Gerald (Spike) and James. Hal lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease and contributions can be made to www.ParkinsonAlliance.org in his honor. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at Independence Village in Petoskey, Michigan and second service will be held In Marquette, Michigan in the month of August.
