Gerald Kenneth Gellerstedt, 76, formerly of Orion, died February 12, 2019, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019. A visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Anyone wishing to join the funeral procession needs to be at the funeral home no later than 10:30 a.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the family. Gerald was born on July 8, 1942, in Moline, the son of Kenneth Nelson and Opal (Bennington) Gellerstedt. Gerald was in the Army, and then went on to work as a systems analyst at Deere & Co., retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He also enjoyed many things including golfing, mountain biking, hiking and traveling. He collected clay pots and loved remodeling homes and landscaping. Survivors include his sisters, Judith (John) Kenagy, and Penny (Richard) Hutchison; brother-in-law, Jerry Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Bekky Anderson. Memories may be shared online by visiting esterdahl.com.
