Obituary for Esiquio “Arthur” Ontiveros Esiquio “Arthur” Ontiveros, 52, of Groom, TX., passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at his home. He entered this life on March 4, 1966 in San Bernardino, California to Francisco Ontiveros and Paula B. Ayson. Arthur had an amazing green thumb and it certainly showed through his lavish gardens. He spent many therapeutic hours working on his beautiful gardens in California and even won awards with his talent to nurture flowers. Arthur had worked at a ski resort in California before moving to Groom approximately four years ago. He deeply loved his family and as a result, after his mother passed away, he was the glue that held the family together. He learned how to cook from his mother and loved to entertain and host gatherings for his family and friends. Arthur was a very sensitive and passionate man, but also very fierce and protective when need be to defend a loved one. Although he was not a strictly religious man, he was very spiritual. While he did not have children, Arthur loved his animals and they were like his children. One of Arthur’s many talents was the ability to sing. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing aloud for others to hear. Those that preceded him in death are his mother, Paula B. Ayson and youngest sister, Dawn Bullard. His dear loved ones left to cherish his memories are his brothers; Francisco “Poncho” Ontiveros of Baldwin Park, California, Ascension “Shonrick” Ontiveros of Bloomington, California and Raymond Ontiveros of Riverside, California; sisters Franchesca Miner of Schertz, Texas, Nellie Garcia of Peoria, Arizona; long time partner of over thirty years, Gary Layton of Wrightwood, California; numerous nephews and nieces. No services are scheduled at this time for Arthur. Per his wishes, he will be cremated. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
